Common Vaccine Questions
All crew and guests who are eligible to be vaccinated must be fully vaccinated with all initial doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. Effective May 5, 2022, this will include all guests 12 years of age and older for all sailings globally. Youths who have received one dose of a vaccine (other than Johnson & Johnson) will not be considered fully vaccinated.
To comply with this requirement, documentation of full vaccination must be provided at the terminal as a condition for boarding. Celebrity Cruises will accept a Certificate of Recovery starting with sailings on or after March 18, 2022 departing from the United States. Visit our FAQs for more details. COVID-19 Booster Vaccine shots are not currently required to sail on Celebrity Cruises.

US Travel Requirements as of May 13, 2022

Travel requirements vary by homeport country. Be sure you’re aware of both homeport country and Celebrity Cruises vaccine and testing requirements as they may differ.  We will continually evaluate and update these requirements and protocols as new information becomes available. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements leading up to departure.

Requirements For Entering the US From Abroad

  • Effective, December 6, 2021, all air passengers, regardless of vaccination status, must present a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one (1) day before travel to the United States.
  • Be sure to save a copy on your phone and bring a printed copy. Name on test results must match those on government issued identification.

Health Protocols and Requirements for US sailings departing through June 30, 2022

Vaccines

All guests who are eligible to be vaccinated must be fully vaccinated with all initial doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. Effective May 5, 2022, this will include all guests 12 years of age and older on all Celebrity Cruises sailings globally.

For all sailings, including U.S. and Global departures, we will recognize a mixed series of any two of the following vaccines with a minimum of 28 days between doses, as fully vaccinated: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca/Covishield, Sinovac, Sinopharm, or Covaxin. Any guest who has received one dose of a vaccine (other than Johnson & Johnson) will not be considered fully vaccinated.

COVID-19 Booster Vaccine shots are not currently required to sail on Celebrity Cruises but are highly recommended to avoid additional testing and costs, at your expense.

Documentation of full vaccination must be provided at the terminal as a condition for boarding.

Pre-Cruise Testing

Out of an abundance of caution, Celebrity Cruises requires all guests two years of age and older to present a digital or printed copy of negative COVID-19 test result in order to board any sailing.

All vaccinated guests are required to present a negative COVID-19 test result at the time of embarkation. This test may be taken as either as an Antigen or PCR test, conducted within two days of boarding the ship. Each guest is responsible for making their own arrangements with an accredited testing provider as well as covering all associated costs.

Unvaccinated guests will be required to bring a negative PCR test conducted within three days of boarding. These guests will be given an additional COVID-19 Antigen test at the terminal prior to embarkation and on the day before disembarkation. The CDC has advised unvaccinated guests cannot be tested twice in one day as it may affect the accuracy of the test results, therefore the COVID-19 PCR test required before arriving at the terminal cannot be taken on boarding day. A registration link for required onsite testing at the terminal will be emailed separately.

Beginning with sailings departing on or after March 18, 2022, guests who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may present a Certificate of Recovery and proof of the positive PCR test result taken between 11-90 days prior to the sail date in order to board. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record. Additionally, please be aware that some ports of call do not accept a Certificate of Recovery for the purposes of debarking and enjoying the destination. For more details, please visit our FAQs

*Pre-Cruise testing requirements may continue throughout 2022.

The governments of the Bahamas, Antigua, Dominica and the US Virgin Islands, have now advised all passengers ages 12 and older, traveling aboard a cruise ship, must be fully vaccinated in order for the ship to be allowed entry into the Bahamas, St. Johns, Roseau, St. Thomas, St. Croix, or St. John. To comply with this requirement, guests ages 12 and older must provide documentation of full vaccination at the terminal as a condition for boarding.

Guests visiting the Bahamas on any sailing departing from the US, do not need to apply for the health visa.

As of September 3, 2021, the government of the Bahamas will require all guests, 12 years of age and older, to be fully vaccinated in order to enter the country by air or sea. This will include guests traveling on a cruise ship. When arriving to the Bahamas directly by air, all guests, two years of age and older, regardless of vaccination status, will now be required to present a negative COVID-19 test result. This test may be taken as either a PCR test or an Antigen test, conducted within five days prior to arrival. Each guest is responsible for making their own arrangements with an accredited testing provider as well as all associated costs.
